Something in a thirty-acre thermal thicket of thorns and thistles thumped and thundered threatening the three-D thoughts of Matthew the thug - although, theatrically, it was only the thirteen-thousand thistles and thorns through the underneath of his thigh that the thirty year old thug thought of that morning.

7 ways to reduce your disk size in windows 7

If you have a SSD drive this will be more beneficial for you, if you have a regular physical spindle hard drive this guide will also help you to reduce your disk size.
Over the years the number one issue that prevents SSD to adapt wildly to a wider audience  is the lack of disk storage space. Because this people would choose to spend extra money to buy larger SSDs, or spend as less as they can to buy a SSD that can just fit for a Operating System to install. While its true there is a limited disk space with SSD, but there are few ways you can use the limited storage space wisely.
Here are 7 ways to reduce your disk space usage up to 10 GBs while preserving all your user data and programs that you have installed. Sounds too good to be true ? Keep reading and find out.
1. Disable Windows Hibernation
This will instantly give you back few GB disk space depending on how large your memory is. By default, Windows will create a hidden hibernation file that matches the exact size of your total usable memory. If your system has 8GB of RAM, by disabling Hibernation will instantly give you back 8GB of disk space on your OS partition. Check out the guide on how to disable Hibernation in Windows 7.
2. Reduce Page File Size
If you already have a relative large memory, you can reduce the virtual memory (Page File) that are being used by your system. It is not recommend to eliminate the use of Page File, but you can certainly reduce the size by manually. Check out the guide on how to reduce and change page file size in Windows 7.
3. Cleanup Services Pack Backup File
Windows 7’s SP1 (Services Pack 1) has been out for a while, by now if you have your computer set to automatically update your system. You should have SP 1 installed, if you haven’t run into any issues after the update, it’s time to delete the Services Pack Backup fileand gain your valuable disk space back. Check out the guide on how to delete Service Pack Backup files in Windows 7.
4. Reduce/Clear Browser Cache Size
Every browser will store images and contents of the sites that you always visit. Unless you disabled browser cache, by default browser will store your cache differently, for a general way to remove browser cache we recommend to use this utility called CCleaner.
5.  Migrate User Profile From Primary OS Partition to a separate hard dive/partition
If you all of the above methods are not enough for you, chances are you have too much data stored in your user profile. Usually user data (user profile) will occupy a large portion of your disk space, by following this guide you will learn how to change the Windows default User Profile location from C drive to D drive or any other partition. And by doing so, you are reducing your OS partition disk storage size.
6. Use TreeSize or Other Utility To find un-common temporary files
TreeSize is an utility to let you visually see how much storage each folder/sub folder is occupying. By doing so, if you are an advanced user, this tool will let you to find files that are unusually large hence hunt down the source of the issue and possibly eliminating those files.
7. Archive Old Files into ZIP
Yes this is old school, but it still works very well if your primary goal is to reduce the disk space usage.
And Last but not Least
Clean up core dump files after Blue Screen Of Death (BSOD), and Windows System Restore points are all the tweaks you can to do reduce the disk space size.
Update: to clean up dump files go to start menu > type “Disk Cleanup” > choose C:\ or your OS main partition
See the screenshot above, check “System error memory dump files”

"Venus will cross the sun’s face as seen from Earth for the last time in this century on June 5-6, 2012. This transit of Venus will be the last of our lifetimes". Here’s something fun to think about as you gaze at Venus. By June 2012, as Venus leaves the evening sky to enter the morning sky, this brightest of planets will pass right in front of the sun, to stage one of the rarest of predictable astronomical phenomena: a transit of Venus across the sun’s face. This upcoming transit of Venus will be the last one for the 21st century. It will take place across a period of nearly 7 hours on June 5-6, 2012. During the transit, Venus will appear in silhouette as a small, dark dot moving in front of the solar disk. This exceedingly rare astronomical event – a transit of Venus – won’t happen again until December 11, 2117. The last transit of Venus was June 8, 2004. But don’t be fooled by that proximity in time. Transits of Venus are very rare, plus transits tend to occur in pairs. They occur in a pattern that repeats every 243 years, with pairs of transits eight years apart separated by long gaps of up to 121.5 years. Before 2004, the last pair of transits were in December 1874 and December 1882. A transit of Venus is, in effect, a tiny sort of eclipse of the sun. Venus, after all, crosses in front of the sun, just as the moon does during a total eclipse. Thus proper eye protection is absolutely essential for watching a transit of Venus, else you risk blindness or permanent eye damage. Observing solar eclipses safely Who will see the June 5-6, 2012 transit of Venus? Depending on where you live worldwide, the transit of Venus will happen on June 5 or 6, 2012. If you live in the world’s Western Hemisphere (North America, northwestern South America, Hawaii, Greenland or Iceland), the transit will start in the afternoon hours on June 5. In the world’s Eastern Hemisphere (Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia or New Zealand), the transit will first be seen at sunrise or in the morning hours on June 6. Image credit: NASA Eclipse Web Site. Click here for a larger map Check out an observatory or astronomy club near you to see if it is hosting a public presentation of the event. Or, look for a webcam. As the time for the transit approaches, return to this post. We’ll be gathering info on public presentations and webcams. From the mainland U.S., the sun will set as the transit is still taking place (on June 5), though the West Coast will get to see more hours of the transit than the East Coast does. Here in Austin, Texas, we’ll see the first half of the transit, while the second half will take place after the sun goes beneath our horizon. In North America, it’ll be to our advantage to find a level western horizon, as the sun will be low in the west at the time of the transit. As for the world’s Eastern Hemisphere, it’s as equally important to find a level eastern horizon on June 6. For Africa, Europe, much of Asia and western Australia, the sun will rise (on June 6) as the transit is taking place. Elsewhere in the Eastern Hemisphere, the transit will start in the morning hours on June 6. Local clock times for the Venus transit in your time zone Many people find it difficult to translate the Universal Time of astronomical events to the clock time in their own time zones. Fortunately, we are happy to link you to a site that lets you find out the clock times of the transit for your own time zone, with absolutely no need to convert from Universal Time. Local transit times for your time zone (no conversion necessary!) Sunrise/sunset times for your sky Everything should be pretty straight forward at this handy-dandy site – except, perhaps, the terminology being used to define Venus’ major contacts with the sun. To help out, we provide an illustration of the transit of Venus, with the contact points defined below. Why is a transit of Venus so rare? Venus, the second planet outward from the sun and next planet inward from Earth, swings between the Earth and sun (at a point called inferior conjunction) five times every eight years, or one time in every 584 or so days. (See the Diagram of Venus’ orbit around the sun below.) More often than not, Venus passes above or below the solar disk at inferior conjunction – that point in its orbit where Venus passes out Earth’s evening sky and into Earth’s morning sky.
